Continental AG shares plummet after Reuters interview on capital raising

Shares in German automotive supplier Continental AG plunged by a fifth on Jan. 15 after CFO Alan Hippe revealed plans for a 1 billion euro share issue in an exclusive Reuters interview. Reuters tracked Hippe down after an appearance at a closed-door investor conference in New York. Reuters had the story ready to go early the next day in Europe. Bloomberg and Dow Jones were forced to cite the Reuters interview in their reports on why Continental shares had collapsed.
