Reuters first to report Saudi output remains unchanged in April

Reuters was 20 minutes ahead of Bloomberg to report on March 10 that Saudi Arabia, OPEC`s most influential member, would keep sales of crude oil to major Asian refiners unchanged in April. Saudi Arabia decides the detail of export volumes in the middle of each month for the following month. The news caught the market by surprise as many traders were bracing for lower volumes in expectation that OPEC might cut production again at its March 15 meeting. OPEC eventually decided to keep production unchanged. Oil prices on March 10 fell nearly 3 percent.
