Reuters ahead on Australian jobs data surprise05.13.2010
Reuters beat Bloomberg by one second in reporting on May 13 surprisingly strong job data for April – enough to make serious money. The Australian dollar and swap rates spiked up in reaction to the figures, which showed 33,700 jobs were added during the month, beating the 20,000 consensus and even the most optimistic forecasts. The Aussie steadily gained after the initial jump, gaining 0.4 percent before plateauing just below $0.89 |
