Reuters alone with investor considering Telecom Argentina purchase 06.24.2009 Reuters was alone in reporting on June 24 that the Werthein family investment group could consider buying Telecom Italia’s stake in Telecom Argentina if the Italian company wants to sell it. Neither Bloomberg nor Dow Jones had the news, which stemmed from a Reuters interview with a Werthein executive. Moreover, they were forced to quote Reuters. Local websites and newspapers picked up Reuters story and Telecom Argentina’s shares in Buenos Aires rose more than 5 percent during the next day’s trading. Reuters alone with investor considering Telecom Argentina purchase

Reuters was alone in reporting on June 24 that the Werthein family investment group could consider buying Telecom Italia’s stake in Telecom Argentina if the Italian company wants to sell it. Neither Bloomberg nor Dow Jones had the news, which stemmed from a Reuters interview with a Werthein executive. Moreover, they were forced to quote Reuters. Local websites and newspapers picked up Reuters story and Telecom Argentina’s shares in Buenos Aires rose more than 5 percent during the next day’s trading.
