Reuters sent out a warning sign on Australia in a July 22nd analysis which showed political backtracking from pro-migration and population growth policies in the near term risks slowing growth and faster inflation in the long run. A tight election in August has political leaders playing to voters’ fears of increasingly crowded cities on the continent, but the country needs more workers desperately to satisfy booming Asian demand for resources.
