Reuters scoops news on Bank of America and Visa`s mobile trial

Reuters exclusively reported on Aug 19 that Visa, the worlds biggest payment processor, and Bank of America, the largest U.S. bank, would begin their widest-ranging trial of using cellphones to make retail purchases in September. Visa shares rose slightly in after-market trading after Reuters reported the connection with the pilot, and the companys shares rose again the following morning. Bloomberg cited Reuters in their story, and Dow Jones appeared not to have matched it. The Reuters story was also widely picked up and discussed among technology news sites and blogs, including AOL`s Daily Finance and Engadget, Fast Company, Gizmodo, Yahoo Finance and CNBC.com.
