Reuters ahead by on market-moving Mexico refinery accident09.07.2010
Reuters beat Bloomberg on Sept 7 in reporting an explosion at the Cadereyta oil refinery in Mexico, news that sent oil futures sharply higher as traders bet Mexico would be forced to substantially increase refined product imports. The Reuters Mexico City team was ahead on every development beating the competition on Pemex confirming the death of a worker in the accident, the identity of the affected unit and news late Wednesday that Pemex would restart a delayed coker at the refinery by the weekend. |
