TomTom shares rise as Garmin talks up sector prospects

Shares in Dutch navigation devices maker TomTom were the top-gainer in the Amsterdam blue chips index on Sept 10 after comments from Garmin CFO Kevin Rauckman. In an exclusive interview with Reuters Rauckman said he expected average selling prices were approaching the bottom of the price curve. “We see these comments as positive for TomTom,” RBS analysts said. TomTom shares rose 1.7 percent on Friday. Barclays analysts referred to the interview. The story was also picked up by the Wall Street Journal and tech blogs Engadget and Gizmodo.
