Reuters first to report that EDF is seeking alternatives for its U.S. business

Reuters exclusively reported on Sept 27 that France’s state-controlled power company EDF is considering selling its U.S. operations after a dispute with partner Constellation Energy. Reuters also was first to report that the French firm had hired Lazard to advise on strategic options for these assets. Citing sources familiar with the matter, Reuters said that EDF might dissolve its partnership with Constellation and sell its stake in Constellation’s nuclear unit — a stake the company paid $4.5 billion for just a year ago. The Financial Times matched the story 10 hours later, and the Baltimore Sun matched 9 hours later, citing Reuters in its report.
