Reuters analysis shows Asia green equities funds are worst performing in SE Asia

A Reuters analysis on Sept. 30 from Tokyo showed that the much-touted green equities funds in Asia are having an eminently forgettable 2010 due to falling energy prices and volatile stock markets, and Japanese investors are responding by switching to safer environment-linked bonds. Using Lipper Inc data, the story showed that a third of the 20 biggest losing funds in Japan in 2010 were green equities funds and that the worst performing Southeast Asian fund so far this year was a green equities fund. The extent of investor dissatisfaction with these funds was also highlighted in the story through the falling asset levels of some of the prominent funds.
