Reuters first with size, timing and lead underwriter on Hulu IPO
10.08.2010
Reuters was first to report on Oct 8 that popular U.S. Web video service Hulu.com is prepared to raise as much as $300 million in an initial public offering likely to be led by Morgan Stanley. Reuters also reported that the IPO would value Hulu at around $2 billion, and that the company could file a prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission before the end of the year. Even as Hulu prepares for an IPO, it was also considering other options including attracting other media companies to contribute new programming or raising more money from existing partners. A decision about how to move forward could come in November. The story was picked up by Barron’s blog, The New York Times Dealbook, plus a wide range of technology blogs including TechCrunch, AllThingsD, paidcontent, CNET, VentureBeat and GigaOm.
