Reuters exclusively reports that Verizon sees Q4 subscriber growth halving from year ago
10.22.2010
Reuters clients were first to learn that Verizon expects to add only half the number of high-value wireless subscribers in the fourth quarter as it did a year earlier. The exclusive outlook came from an interview with Verizon CFO John Killian on Oct 22, after the company reported quarterly profit and revenue that were ahead of the average Wall Street forecast. Verizon`s shares were down a fraction after the results, and fell as much as 2.3 percent after the Reuters alerts from the interview. Analysts said the estimate for weaker-than-expected subscriber growth in the critical December holiday quarter was a significant factor in the share drop.
