Reuters first on Potash production cut; shares sink05.20.2009
Shares of Potash fell $2 in after-hours trading on May 20 and 6 percent the next day after Reuters was 40 minutes ahead of Bloomberg and unmatched by Dow Jones in reporting that the world’s largest potash producer planned to cut almost 5 percent of its production because of a slump in demand. Canada’s Potash Corp, which accounts for about 15 percent of global potash capacity and plays a huge role in controlling supply and propping up pricing. |
