Shares in $10 billion Dutch mail and express group TNT hit an eight-month low on Oct. 29 after Reuters exclusively reported the company had asked banks to submit proposals for a capital increase. TNT, which has a market capitalisation close to 7.3 billion euros and was trading down 1.5 percent before the news, fell as much as 4.4 percent. Analysts said the company could seek to raise as much as 700 million euros to plug an equity hole in its mail unit and retain its credit rating |
