Reuters first with news that Oracle has hired private eyes to track down Hewlett-Packard’s CEO

Reuters was first with the news that Oracle Corp had hired private investigators to find new HP CEO Leo Apotheker, hoping to serve him with a subpoena to testify in its huge copyright infringement trial against German software company SAP that has captivated the tech world. HP has been trying to shield its new CEO from the public during his first days on the job, and keep him away from HP headquarters to avoid appearing in trial. The Apotheker story was unmatched by competitors and picked up by a wide range of news outlets, including DJ Marketwatch, Silicon Alley Insider, Fox Business and CNBC, Yahoo and a host of newspapers like the Inquirer and Canada’s National Post.
