Vanda shares jump 8-fold as Reuters first with drug approval05.06.2009
Shares of biotech company Vanda jumped nearly eight-fold on May 6 after Reuters was out front with news that the FDA had reversed course and approved its schizophrenia drug. The agency’s about-face shocked investors, who swooped in to buy the previously beleaguered stock. Reuters was more than an hour ahead of Dow Jones and more than a minute ahead of Bloomberg in sending out the first headlines. |
