Best Buy shares rise on bullish forecast for Black Friday11.22.2010
Best Buy shares rose as much as 3 percent on Nov. 22 after a top company executive told Reuters the electronics retailer expected higher sales on Black Friday, the traditional kick-off to the all-important holiday selling season. Shari Ballard, executive vice president of Best Buy, said the chain had started holiday promotions earlier than usual this year, had hired more phone agents and increased their level of training to better cater to customer queries. The news was unmatched by Dow Jones or Bloomberg, and was picked up by a range of media outlets including Fox Business and ABC. |
