Reuters gets OPEC Sec-Gen on oil price aspirations

Reuters scored an interview with OPEC secretary general Abdullah al-Badri on June 15 to discuss the oil market outlook, following the release of the groups latest Monthly Oil Market Report. Clients gained more insight into OPECs oil price aspirations from the interview, in which Badri said OPEC did not want a too-rapid rise in oil prices but also that he believed a higher price of $80 would not hurt the world economic recovery. The story was the latest to indicate that OPEC officials are nudging up their oil price aspirations as the economic outlook stops getting worse. Bloomberg provided its version of the story two hours later.
