G20 Glory02.18.2011
Reuters exclusively reported from the G20 finance ministers’ summit in Paris on Feb. 18 that China would block a proposed deal on indicators to measure global economic imbalances. We alone had quotes from the Chinese finance minister that Beijing would not accept exchange rates and foreign reserves as part of the package. A day later, a fudged deal would announce with both those key measures still absent. It took several hours after our story broke for any of our competitors to get confirmation that this was the case. |
