Reuters detailed Oracle CEO Larry Ellison’s plans for Sun Microsystems hardware business after his company buys Sun in an exclusive interview. Ellison plans to keep Sun’s hardware business and boost investment in its chip business, defying expectations of many analysts. The Wall Street Journal, NY Times DealBook and dozens of financial and computer industry publications quickly picked up the interview, citing Reuters. Oracle filed the transcript in an 8-K with the U.S. SEC. “Larry Ellison, with one short interview, has turned the server side of the industry on its head,” Gabriel Consulting Group Dan Olds told Computerworld.
