Kenya shilling dives after Reuters exclusively reports c.bank comments

The Kenyan shilling fell nearly 1 percent in 15 minutes after Reuters exclusively reported comments by the central bank governor reiterating that he would not intervene in the foreign exchange market. Foreign exchange traders had expected the central bank to sell dollars to support the shilling, so news that it would not — provided directly to Reuters by the governor — had a major impact on trade.
