REC CEO comments to Reuters send shares down
05.02.2011
Shares in Norways Renewable Energy Corporation
fell more than 3 percent as volumes spiked on May
2 after exclusive comments by Chief Executive Ole
Enger to Reuters on the impact of order delays and
cancellations in Italy on the companys second
quarter results. Just two days ahead of REC`s
results, Enger made the unusually forward-looking
comments, telling Reuters on the sidelines on a
solar industry conference that order problems in this
key market for the group would hit revenues in the
second quarter. A company spokeswoman told
Reuters the comment triggered a flood of phone
calls from investors eager to know more details, but
they had to wait for the company results on May 4.
The story was picked up by CNBC and BBVA
websites as well as numerous environmental
websites.
