Reuters exclusive interviews suggest deflation could weigh on gold

Reuters exclusive interviews suggest deflation could weigh on gold

Reuters clients were first to hear on June 16 that prominent technical analyst Robert Prechter says gold might have already topped last year and is not going anywhere in a near-term deflationary environment. Reuters also gave first heads that economist Nouriel Roubini says gold and oil`s high prices do not reflect their market fundamentals. The exclusive interviews at the Reuters Investment Outlook Summit were published when the price of gold has steadily weakened because of lessened inflation worries, after bullion failed to break above $1,000 an ounce earlier in June. The stories were well circulated among the commodities investment community.
