Reuters Scores exclusives at OPEC’s May Meeting05.28.2009
Project Insider scored an exclusive interview May 28 with the head of Libya’s OPEC delegation in which he gave details on his country’s plans to buy Canada’s Verenex Energy. Shokri Ghanem, chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation, said it shouldn’t take long to close the deal. Libya wants to pre-empt a friendly bid from China National Petroleum Corporation. Clients were e-mailing in search of more detail as soon as the snaps went out. Insider was the first to interview Saudi oil minister Ali al-Naimi on his arrival at the meeting.
