Sealy shares jump after Reuters reports market share gains03.23.2009
Shares of mattress maker Sealy Corp rose as much as 17 percent after its private equity owner told Reuters exclusively on March 23 that the company has been gaining market share during the recession. The comments made at Reuters Private Equity and Hedge Funds Summit, sparked a rally in the stock’s trading the next day. Sealy shares gapped up, opening about 10 percent higher than the previous day’s close. In the day’s trading they rose as much as 17 percent, and finished up about 7 percent after a sell-off in the last few minutes of trading. The story was unmatched by Bloomberg and Dow Jones. |
