Reuters poll successfully calls U.S. climate change bill legislation

While there was much uncertainty over whether the House Energy and Commerce Committee would clear historic U.S. climate change legislation during a week-long mark up of the bill, Reuters provided a clear indication it would pass with a comprehensive survey of the panel. Reuters called members of the committee and visited their offices to find out where lawmakers stood on the bill. The May 20 story was big news to financial clients seeking to gauge the impact of the proposed regulation on markets. National Public Radio cited the Reuters survey. The story was also circulated among climate change lobbyists and congressional staff, posted on several news websites, including Forbes, the U.K`s Guardian, STV.TV and Forex Pros. When the bill passed on May 21, Reuters was 3 minutes ahead of Bloomberg to report the news.
