Reuters gets series of exclusives on U.S. arms contract talks

Reuters has been well ahead of rivals with a series of exclusives about U.S. arms discussions with various foreign governments including: Reuters had exclusive word on March 15 on a renewed push from Taiwan to buy advanced Lockheed Martin Corp F-16 fighter jets. The Wall Street Journal matched it 48 hours later. Reuters was alone on March 13 with President Obama’s first planned overseas arms sale — a Textron/Bell helicopter package to help counter drug-runners and other criminals in Mexico. Reuters was also about 12 hours ahead on March 16 of competitors with a $2.1 billion sale of Boeing patrol planes to India, the biggest US arms sale to India so far.
