Dendreon jumps 11 pct after exclusive Reuters interview on cancer vaccine

Shares of Dendreon Corp jumped as much as 11 percent on Feb10 after the Seattle-based biotech told Reuters in an exclusive interview that raw new data from a late-stage clinical trial suggest the company`s vaccine to treat advanced prostate cancer is likely to be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. CEO Mitchell Gold told Reuters that data from patients taking Provenge and placebos in the latest trial showed very similar prolonged survival rates as patients at the same two year-point in an earlier study.
