Reuters first with resignation of FSA deputy chairman
02.11.2009
Reuters was first with the shock news that James Crosby had resigned as deputy chairman of Britains financial regulator, one of the top UK business and political stories of the week. Crosbys resignation followed a whistleblowers claims he had ignored risk warnings and escalated into a political dispute due to his links with Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Reuters tracked down Crosby and snapped his emailed statement at 1132 GMT, 42 minutes before the FSA confirmed his resignation in a statement. FT.com and Dow cited Reuters in reporting the news, and Bloomberg still did not have Crosbys own comments over six hours later.
