Reuters knocks down Sprint buy-out rumour; shares fall07.14.2008
Reuters reported on July 15 that South Korea’s SK Telecom wasn’t in takeover talks with beleaguered U.S. mobile provider Sprint Nextel, but instead was discussing technology collaboration. The story, which knocked down a CNBC report that the two were in acquisition talk, reduced gains in Sprint shares and was cited as the reason behind Sprint’s 4 percent stock decline on July 16. The Wall Street Journal followed with its story a half hour after Reuters. |
