South Africa’s Zuma tries to calm investor nerves in exclusive Reuters interview

In the last media interview he will give before South Africa’s election on April 22, ANC leader Jacob Zuma told Reuters exclusively there would be no lurch to the left after the vote. Zuma is widely expected to gain the presidency after the election and his rise has troubled investors, who fear a shift away from the business-friendly policies of former president Thabo Mbeki. Zuma told Reuters on March 27 that South Africa would remain attractive to foreign investors although policies will be implement to help the poor and ordinary workers. The interview won wide attention locally and abroad.
