Reuters the source that matters on Madagascar

Reuters the source that matters on Madagascar

With the pressure piling on him to step down and chaotic scenes in Antananarivo, Madagascar’s President Marc Ravalomanana spoke exclusively to Reuters at the weekend to say he was not going to resign. It was another example of the superior Reuters coverage from the island. The troubles in Madagascar since the start of the year have crippled the vital tourist industry and the increase in political risk has raised questions over multi-billion dollar mining investment. Reuters has consistently set the agenda with reports from the ground and comments from leading players, including opposition leader Andry Rajoelina, who told Reuters exclusively at the weekend that he was giving orders to mutinous soldiers. As well as providing an unrivalled picture for those with investment interest in Madagascar, Reuters has been the essential source of information for international media.
