Anticipating that the new American administration would act quickly on the difficult issue of the Guantanamo prison camp, Reuters sent a reporter to the U.S. base on the Cuban island for inauguration day on Jan. 20.. When most other reporters had gone to bed and the new President was dancing at his inauguration balls, Reuters discovered from camp officials that Obama had requested a halt to the contentious trials of terrorism suspects.
