Thai politician indicates policy priorities days before becoming prime minister12.12.2008
Reuters was the first media organisation to discuss the policy views of Thai opposition party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva after he emerged as favourite to become the next prime minister. Abhisit told Reuters in an interview on Dec 12, three days before he was elected as PM, that he would give priority to boosting the sagging economy by increasing government spending and tax holidays. The interview was a valuable guide for investors to what they could expect from the new leadership. |
