08.08.2008
For months Reuters political journalists have been breaking news from the U.S. presidential campaign on the issues topping the agenda of investors. This week one of our chief rivals praised our unique approach. In an editorial on Aug. 8, The Wall Street Journal singled out our story on Barack Obama favouring a stronger dollar. The newspaper called it the “underreported economic news of the week.” It said Reuters had reported important news “ignored by most of the media.” The news came from a press conference but other news organisations chose not to highlight it the way we did. The WSJ said “This ought to be a bigger story.” It was for Reuters clients.
