Reuters ahead with Spanish debt issuance07.02.2009
Reuters reported exclusively on July 2 that the Spanish Treasury would have to increase its debt issuance by about 20 billion euros this year, because of the cost of a massive government stimulus plan. Months of preparatory work bore fruit for Madrid reporters, who obtained the news from a highly placed government source. The story is bearish for Spanish public bonds and possibly for the country`s credit rating and was widely quoted in the region. |
