Reuters exclusive poll of base metal price on Oct 15 hit all the right spots for consumer, producers, traders and analysts who descended on London for the annual LME week gathering. Reuters told clients price forecasts for metals such as copper used in power and construction had been revised up because of potentially stronger demand next year. Consumers and producers revising their budgets for next year had been asking for an update in recent weeks, while analysts wanted to know what their peers were thinking. One consumer said he would like to see the service and wanted a costing on the basis of this survey. Several analysts told Reuters they plan to use it in their research to highlight why their forecasts are different.
