Fallen Goldman hedge fund star talks to Reuters about comeback

Reuters was the only news organization to catch up with fallen Goldman Sachs hedge fund star Mark Carhart, who ran the widely watched Global Alpha fund for a dozen years. Once co-managing $12 billion, Carhart disappeared from view after he and his partner retired following two years of losses sparked by the credit crisis. Reuters nabbed Carhart on Oct 15 as he attended an industry conference, anticipating he was due to make his return after an 18-month hiatus. Carhart told Reuters he was indeed plotting a comeback, seeking to raise an extraordinary $1 billion and implementing a number of new investor-friendly terms. The article remains unmatched by rivals and quickly made the rounds among Wall Street brokers, some of which contacted Reuters seeking information on how they could land Carhart`s business.
