Reuters breaks news AIG sets sale of asset mgmt unit for $300-400

Reuters was alone in reporting on Aug. 3 that AIG was close to selling its asset management business to a consortium for $300 million to $400 million. The business has been on sale for several months. The news was widely picked up by other media, including Dow Jones, the Daily Deal, flyonthewall.com and CNN Money — all of which cited the Reuters report. Bloomberg did not have the story.
