Reuters scoops Argon sale; shares surge 20 pct and volume soars

On January 11, shares of defense manufacturer Argon ST shot up 20 percent on record volume after a Reuters scoop found that the company hired advisers to sell itself. The following day, Argon announced it was exploring strategic alternatives. The Reuters story also said that Argon, which makes sensors for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, is expected to draw interest from Boeing, BAE Systems, Raytheon and L-3 Communications.
