Malaysian rubber glove makers shoot up after Reuters interview

Shares of Malaysian rubber glove maker Kossan Rubber Industries surged 6.5 percent to a record high after its Managing Director Lim Kuang Sia told Reuters in an interview on January 13 that the firm would boost production by at least 20 percent to meet growing demand for gloves. The surge in share price spilled over to other glove maker counters and the report was cited by Malaysia’s main business dailies such as the Edge and Star Biz. Malaysian brokerage houses including TA Investment also cited the report in their research notes.
