Well ahead on India blast02.13.2010
Reuters was ahead of Bloomberg by 49 minutes with news that a Feb. 13 blast in the city of Pune was a bomb attack, the first such major attack since Mumbai. The toll would eventually reach 10 dead and some 60 wounded. Militant attacks in India are a major concern for markets as a measure of regional stability and because they may inflame sectarian tensions and relations with nuclear neighbour and rival Pakistan. The United States has sought better relations between Pakistan and India to avoid giving Islamabad any excuse for pulling troops away from the regions near the Afghanistan border. |
