AIG shares rise 5 pct after Reuters story on Prudential CEO winning favour03.11.2010
Reuters exclusively reported on March 11 that contrary to media reports, some large UK Prudential shareholders were warming to the British insurer’s deal with AIG’s Asian arm following meetings with Prudential CEO Tidjane Thiam. Thiam appeared to be winning over some skeptical investors, with one large shareholder telling Reuters that he made a “pretty good fist” of explaining the merits of the deal and the price tag of $35.5 billion was justified. Reuters was unmatched by Bloomberg and Dow Jones and AIG shares rose 4.8 percent to $38 in premarket trade right after the story. |
