Reuters ahead in euro zone crisis

Reuters was ahead with news during the week of April 12 that the two biggest breaks in the euro zone crisis. At the start of the week, a Reuters correspondent heard the Cypriot finance minister was on a eurogroup conference call about Greece and rushed to the ministry to seek comment from him; Reuters was 7 minutes ahead of Bloomberg and further ahead of Dow Jones with initial news of an agreement on Greece’s 30 billion euro financial safety net, which pushed the euro up sharply when markets reopened on Monday. On April15, Greece took another step towards obtaining emergency loans by requesting talks with the European Union, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund; the Reuters was 7 minutes ahead of Market News and 19 ahead of Dow Jones on that development.
