Reuters breaks news of Nokia`s software trouble, shares fall

Shares in the world’s top cellphone maker fell on April 22 when Reuters exclusively revealed the firm would delay the renewal of its crucial Symbian software. The firm’s hope of renewed strength against the onslaught of the iPhone and Blackberry is pinned on the new version, and investors said the postponement caused frustration. Nokia confirmed the news more than an hour later with its earnings report. Nokia closed 14 percent lower on the day, with analysts citing the software delay as the major reason for the fall.
